How it works

Bring everyone's stories together with one link!

Start the book

Tell us who it's for

Add the child's name and send the link to the sponsor first.

Share one link

Everyone adds their story

Friends and family can capture a memory by voice, video, writing or photos, wherever they are in the world. It's easy on any phone and nobody needs an account!

We put it together

Hear it, read it, hold it

We write out every voice note and gather it all into a podcast you can play and a beautiful book you can hold.

The three questions for a Confirmation

  1. What do you remember about your own Confirmation?
  2. What have you watched them get good at?
  3. What would you tell them before they start secondary school?
Who's in a Confirmation book

A twelve-year-old about to start secondary can use some advice.

The grandparents, the aunts and the cousins who've been through it get the link next.

1

The sponsor

A sponsor might be an uncle, a godparent or a family friend.

2

Friends of the family

Neighbours and the coach from the club can add a message too, once someone sends them the link.

3

The class teacher

Sixth class spent weeks learning the hymns with her.

What people say

What people say in a Confirmation book

Give them one thing you wish you'd known at twelve.

"Bring a jacket on the first day even if it's sunny. And don't sign up for every club in the first week."
CCuánhis cousin, in second year
"I watched you at the under-twelves final in the rain and you ran for the whole match. I was soaked and I didn't care."
GGobnaithis aunt
"I was confirmed in 1968 by a bishop with a voice like thunder, and my knees were knocking the whole way up the aisle."
MMalachyhis grandad
"Oisín, you were the size of a bag of sugar when you were born, and now you're taller than me. I love you."
DDervlahis mam
When to start

Send the link a month before the Confirmation

That gives the family a week to record, and the printed copy has three weeks to reach you.

In their words
A Christmas gift
We gave a book of stories about Mam to her for Christmas and she said it was the best gift she had received. There were some stories she had never heard! She felt really surrounded by love.

Questions people ask

What is a good Confirmation gift from a sponsor?

Tell the child why you said yes when you were asked to be sponsor, and what you hope secondary school is like for them.

What do you give for a Confirmation apart from money?

Ask the people closest to the child to send a video if they'd rather be seen than heard. You can save each video as a file at no cost.

Can family abroad send a message for the Confirmation?

Yes. They can record from anywhere in the world with the link. We post the printed book to Ireland, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, every EU country, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.

Can the child's friends record a message?

Yes. Send the link to their friends' parents, and they can record with them at home.
