They'll have everyone from home with them for the first homesick Sunday.

Everyone adds their story

Friends and family can capture a memory by voice, video, writing or photos, wherever they are in the world. It's easy on any phone and nobody needs an account!

We put it together

Hear it, read it, hold it

We write out every voice note and gather it all into a podcast you can play and a beautiful book you can hold.

The three questions for someone moving abroad

  1. What's your favourite memory with them here at home?
  2. What will you miss most about having them around?
  3. What's the first thing you'll do together when they're home?
Who's in a going away book

Friends from school, college and every job they've had can add a message.

The book is handed over at the going away drinks.

1

The old flatmates

Whoever shared a kitchen with them has a story about it.

2

Granny and Grandad

Record them on your phone with the link the next time you call in.

3

Waiting at the new flat

The printed book can be waiting for them when they find a flat in Sydney or Toronto.

In their words
A Christmas gift
We gave a book of stories about Mam to her for Christmas and she said it was the best gift she had received. There were some stories she had never heard! She felt really surrounded by love.

Questions people ask

What is a good leaving gift for someone emigrating?

Ask the people they're leaving to say when they'll visit. A message with a date in it gives them something to look forward to in the first year.

Can friends abroad record, and do you post to Australia?

Yes. They can record from anywhere in the world with the link. We post the printed book to Ireland, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, every EU country, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.

Can we play it at the going away party?

Yes. The last night in the pub is a good time for it.

Can people keep adding messages after they've gone?

Yes, until you close the book. Order once the late messages are in.

Can everyone chip in?

Yes, if you turn chip-in on. Everyone who records can put money towards the book and saves their card. Their cards are charged when you go to pay, and it comes off what you pay. If you don’t finish paying, their money goes back within a week.
